BeeCreative - Let your imagination be free!
This page is devoted to the covers of songs I love to sing. Let me start off by saying I did not write any of these songs, I do not own the rights to any of these songs. The majority of the videos you will find posted here are backed by karaoke tracks I have purchased, free tracks on YouTube or tracks I have found on the karaoke app Smule.
How do I (or will I) pick the songs that I record and post? Well, lets see. Some will be songs that I have known forever and just really enjoy singing. Some will be new songs or at least new to me songs that I just had to learn. And last but not least, some will be by request.
Do you have a song you think I should hear or learn? Shoot me an email with the song title or a YouTube link where I can take a listen. I will be happy to check it out.
How many times do I record each video? I would love to say I am a one and done person, but I would be lying. So far I have recorded each song at least 5 times (probably more realistically 10-15 times.) I am quite critical of myself, I tossed one video out and re-recorded it because I didn't like the way my hair looked and another because I was blinking all weird through out the whole thing. Usually though, it's because I missed a note, said the wrong word, came in to early or too late, ran out of breath where I didn't need to and so on. The ones that make the cut and I post are still far from perfect but I do hope you enjoy them anyway. Sometimes you just have to embrace your creativity and put yourself out there.
My cover of a fabulous Reba McEntire song, "The Greatest Man I Never Knew." I think I love everything Reba does from her singing to her acting. I hope I did the song justice.
This is one of my all time favorites by LeAnn Rimes. I first heard "Ten Thousand Angels Cried" years ago when I picked up her You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs CD, pretty sure she was the ripe old age of 15 at the time. I fell in love with this song. I hope y'all enjoy it too.
The scarf I am wearing is made from a pattern by Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. You can find her tutorial here: https://youtu.be/0b2octCGvRE
I do not know the brand of yarn I used. It was given to me missing the label.
"My Strongest Weakness" by Wynonna is a song I have been singing for over 20 years. Wow, is that even possible!?! This is a song I used to sing to my oldest when he was a baby and he's engaged now so yes it's possible. LOL! I also sang a 30 second acappella version of this song for my Voice audition.
You can find the tutorial on how to make the Newsboy Puff Stitch hat I'm wearing here: https://youtu.be/0zbaw6v_wCA
I used Yarn Bee Aurora Borealis Yarn in the color Fruit Punch from Hobby Lobby.
"How Can I Help You Say Goodbye" is such a fabulous song by Patty Loveless. Can y'all tell I really like my 90's country ladies?
The afghan in the background is made with an assortment of neon colors by Red Heart. I followed along with Fiber Spider's Crocheted Kaleidoscope Granny Square Tutorial to get started. Here's a link to his tutorial: https://youtu.be/5QtnDc0P3x4
My friend, Chelley and I singing a cover of High Sierra. A song made popular by Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris & Linda Rondstadt. We claim no rights to the song, we just enjoy singing it together. Hope y’all enjoy!!
Check out this duet cover of Tanya Tucker’s Two Sparrows in a Hurricane. Thank you to Peggysue Holiday for letting me hijack your video!
This is a great song, originally performed by Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers. I have loved this song for years. My friend, Chelley and I performed this at a Help for the Homeless benefit a couple of years ago. We don’t own the rights to this song, we just enjoy covering it! Hope y’all like it!
